Airports in Thailand scare birds off
The Thai authorities plan to install scarecrows at the international airport of Bangkok. The flocks of birds pose a real threat to the planes when taking off. As the Nation newspaper informed, spokesmen for the Thai air forces believed the scarecrows could help to prevent from engine damages which occur if birds fly in there when a plane takes off or lands. “Few people understand that it is also the duty of the army to scare birds away in order to provide for security for both the people and birds themselves”, - deputy air forces commander of Thailand said. The administration of the Thai airports tries to solve this problem using even hawks. However a lot of birds are very attracted by the lake which is close to the airport.
