American man catches a fish with two mouths

A coast rainbow trout caught by Clarence Olberding in the Holms Lake (Nebraska St.) stood a double chance to be caught: it had two mouths. Clarence Olberding, 57, said his friends didn’t believe him when he invited them to come and see the unusual fish. The man's friends decided he had made the story up. But the fish with two mouths weighing 400 grams was nothing but real.

"When I caught it, I bent down to take the hook out. I noticed it had pierced the upper jaw while there was another one underneath," recalls the fisherman. He also added that he hadn't seen anything like that in forty years he had devoted to this hobby.

Don Gabelhouse, an official at the Game and Parks Commission in Nebraska, said it was for the first time he had heard of such a case: "It must be a genetic mutation. I don't think there's anything wrong with the fish". According to Olberding, later he noticed that the second mouth wasn't complete. He said he wasn't going to keep the fish: “I'll smoke and eat it”.
